The AotS Platform

Oftentimes, when creating new software it is a founder’s prerogative to try to stand out from competition by loading the software with every feature they can think of.

One problem with this is they run the risk of becoming an AotS (all of the shit) platform that creates a steep learning curve for early adopters. If you think about your competition they didn’t start with the software they have today. They started somewhere that was probably much simpler and rolled out new features as they went. This allows users to adopt the features a little bit at a time.

So moral of the story is to think about it this way, find one thing your competitors do not do all that well and be the best at that. Make that customer experience 10x better than your competition. You can roll out all of the rest of the shi*t once you have paying users.
